Botswana Clients Visit Shacman Headquarters, Sign Deal After Recognizing Heavy-Duty Truck Quality

Shacman Sales Team and Botswana Clients

Xi’an, China – Recently, two key clients from TransBotswana Logistics, a well-known logistics and mining enterprise in Botswana, visited the global headquarters and manufacturing base of Shacman (Shaanxi Automobile) in Xi’an, China. This visit marks an important step for Shacman in deepening its cooperation in Botswana’s heavy-duty transportation sector. After a full-day tour of Shacman’s production lines, R&D center, and testing facilities, the clients expressed high recognition for the quality of Shacman’s heavy-duty trucks and signed a contract on the spot to purchase 20 units of Shacman’s F3000 dump trucks and X3000 tractors, with a contract value exceeding $1.2 million.

In-Depth Tour Highlights Shacman’s Commitment to Quality

The Botswana delegation, led by Mr. Thabo Molefe, Operations Director of TransBotswana Logistics, and Mr. Lerato Kgosi, Fleet Manager, first visited Shacman’s intelligent manufacturing workshop. Inside the workshop, they witnessed the automated assembly process of Shacman’s flagship model for the African market – the F3000 dump truck, including processes such as high-strength steel chassis welding, precision engine installation, and strict quality inspections.

“Robotic welding ensures uniform strength for every chassis, and it’s impressive that the vehicles undergo over 100 quality checks before rolling off the production line,” Mr. Molefe said during the tour. “In Botswana, our trucks need to cope with harsh working conditions – from the high temperatures of the Kalahari Desert to the muddy roads of the Okavango Delta. Durability is a must. What we’ve seen here proves that Shacman fully meets this standard.”

Subsequently, the delegation visited Shacman’s R&D center. Engineers showcased customized configurations tailored to Botswana’s needs: reinforced axles for heavy mining transportation, dust-resistant air filtration systems for desert environments, and fuel-efficient Weichai engines optimized for Botswana’s long-haul routes. “The 460hp engine of the X3000 tractor has a fuel consumption of only 28 liters per 100 kilometers, which will significantly reduce our operating costs,” Mr. Kgosi added. “This is undoubtedly a game-changer for our cross-border transportation business.”

On-Site Contract Signing: A Powerful Testament to Trust

After the tour, the delegation held a special meeting with Shacman’s African sales team, focusing on after-sales service support in the Botswana market, including spare parts supply, local technician training, and 24/7 maintenance services. Shacman established and officially launched an exclusive spare parts warehouse in Gaborone, the capital of Botswana, in the fourth quarter of 2024. This implemented achievement further strengthened the clients’ confidence in cooperation.

“Many international brands promise quality but often fail to deliver on local services,” Mr. Molefe said during the meeting. “Shacman has stocked 90% of key spare parts in Gaborone, which means we no longer have to face long downtime – a problem that has hindered our business when cooperating with other suppliers in the past. This end-to-end solution is exactly why we chose Shacman.”

At the end of the meeting, both parties held a formal contract signing ceremony. TransBotswana Logistics confirmed the purchase of 12 F3000 dump trucks (for mining transportation) and 8 X3000 tractors (for cross-border logistics). The first batch of vehicles is expected to be delivered in November 2025, and the client plans to place additional orders if the vehicle performance meets expectations.

Shacman’s Expanding Footprint in Botswana

This client visit and contract signing mark the continuous enhancement of Shacman’s market influence in Botswana. Since 2021, Shacman has deployed over 300 heavy-duty trucks in Botswana. Currently, Botswana’s mining industry (diamonds, coal) is thriving, and infrastructure projects (highway upgrading projects connecting South Africa and Namibia) are advancing steadily. The market has a strong demand for reliable and cost-effective heavy-duty trucks, and Shacman is fully prepared to meet this demand.

As Shacman continues to deepen its cooperation with various African countries, such on-site client visits have become more frequent. This process not only highlights Shacman’s brand philosophy of building trust through “transparency, high quality, and customized support” but also serves as a key driver for its success in the global heavy-duty truck market.
