Shacman Secures 3,500+ Overseas Orders in 20 Days, Proton Motors Drives Hydrogen Truck Expansion in 2026

China’s new energy heavy truck market is poised to exceed 300,000 units in 2026, with penetration rate surging to over 35% as “hydrogen + pure electric” dual routes gain traction. Overseas expansion also becomes a core growth engine for domestic brands, with Southeast Asia and Africa leading demand. Shacman kicks off 2026 with a brilliant start: securing over 3,500 overseas orders in the first 20 days, while its subsidiary Proton Motors accelerates hydrogen truck deployment with new deliveries and a 13,000-unit annual target, reinforcing its leadership in global green commercial vehicle sector.

Overseas “Opening Shot”: 3,500+ Orders Across Multiple Markets

On January 20, 2026, a fleet of 100 Shacman X5000 tractors departed from Xi’an Commercial Vehicle Industrial Park to Vietnam, marking another batch delivery in Southeast Asia. This milestone caps a strong overseas performance: in just 20 days of 2026, Shacman secured hundreds of orders in Malaysia, achieved over 1,600 units in actual sales in Africa, and saw a significant year-on-year sales jump in Central and South America, with cumulative overseas orders exceeding 3,500 units.

With 36 years of overseas experience, Shacman’s products now cover more than 140 countries and regions, with a global ownership exceeding 360,000 units. The latest batch of X5000 tractors, tailored for Southeast Asian logistics routes, features reliable powertrain and adaptive configurations, further consolidating its market share in the region.

Proton Motors: 50 Hydrogen Trucks Delivered, 13,000-Unit Target Set

As Shacman’s new energy core, Proton Motors held its 2026 Partner Conference on January 6, announcing an annual sales target of 13,000 units. It also delivered 50 hydrogen fuel cell heavy trucks to Yulin, Shaanxi on January 13, marking the large-scale promotion of hydrogen transportation in the region.

The delivered trucks are equipped with a self-developed 215kW fuel cell system and 8×385L hydrogen supply system, passing 12,000km durability tests and millions of kilometers of market verification. Earlier, 20 Proton hydrogen trucks had transported 270,000 tons of coal in Yulin by 2025, reducing carbon emissions by 1,130 tons. Proton also launched its “Di Jiang” product matrix, including hydrogen trucks with over 650km range and wire-controlled chassis for autonomous driving.

Industry Trend: Dual Routes & Global Layout

The 2026 new energy heavy truck market will focus on scenario-specific innovation. Proton Motors launches the new “Re⁺” platform, increasing sleeper width to 950mm and achieving “oil-electric same weight” via magnesium alloy materials. It also offers super fast-charging models and 660kW high-power motor versions for different scenarios.

Shacman’s Delong X6000 4X2 tractor recently obtained EU WVTA certification, securing initial orders from Germany, France and Italy with 500 units to be delivered in 2026. This dual breakthrough in traditional and new energy markets, coupled with global layout, positions Shacman well for the 2026 market competition.

“Our overseas orders and hydrogen energy progress reflect Shacman’s strength in global green transformation,” a Shacman executive stated. “We will adhere to dual energy routes to meet diverse market demands worldwide.”
