Shacman Secures EU WVTA Certification & Launches H6000E Battery-Swap Heavy Trucks

On March 30, 2026, Shacman officially announced that its flagship X6000 4×2 tractor has obtained full EU WVTA (Whole Vehicle Type Approval) certification. This rigorous certification confirms the model’s compliance with strict European regulatory standards, including UN ECE regulations and EU emission norms. The X6000 4×2, equipped with a high-efficiency powertrain and advanced safety systems, is now eligible for unrestricted sale and operation across all EU member states. This breakthrough positions Shacman as one of the first Chinese heavy-duty truck brands to enter the EU high-end market with a fully certified flagship model, opening a critical gateway for its European expansion.

In the domestic new energy sector, Shacman continues to lead the battery-swap heavy truck market. On March 25, the company held a strategic cooperation signing and delivery ceremony in Datong, Shanxi Province, together with Xizhong Auto and Times Qiji (a CATL subsidiary). The three parties established a national joint marketing project team, committing to launch at least three new electric drive axle heavy truck models in 2026 and achieve a sales target of 3,000 units. At the event, Shacman delivered 1,100 units of the H6000E battery-swap heavy truck to local customers. The H6000E features a lightweight electric drive axle design, supporting ultra-fast battery swapping in under 5 minutes, making it ideal for high-intensity operations in mining and logistics.

The global heavy-duty truck market is undergoing profound changes. The EU’s stricter emission and safety regulations have raised the entry barrier for non-European brands, making WVTA certification a prerequisite for market access. Meanwhile, China’s new energy heavy truck penetration rate is projected to exceed 35% in 2026, driven by policy support and technological advancements. The upcoming National VII emission standard, which will reduce NOx limits by 60% compared to National VI, is further accelerating the industry’s shift toward electrification.

Shacman’s dual breakthroughs in EU certification and battery-swap technology demonstrate its comprehensive strength in product development, regulatory compliance, and industrial chain integration. With a global network of 13 KD factories and over 330 service stations, Shacman is well-positioned to meet the growing demand for green, high-quality heavy trucks worldwide. “The EU WVTA certification and our battery-swap ecosystem expansion reflect Shacman’s commitment to global leadership in sustainable transportation,” said a company spokesperson. “We will continue to innovate and deliver reliable, low-carbon solutions for global customers.”
