China’s new energy commercial vehicle (NEV) penetration surged to 33% in October 2025, up 8 percentage points year-on-year, with heavy-duty truck NEV penetration reaching 24% — signaling a decisive shift toward green transport.
Shacman, ranked 2nd in China’s heavy-truck exports with January-September overseas sales growing 24.5%, seized the moment at the 2025 Wuhan Commercial Vehicle Show, launching three NEV series and a premium powertrain while securing Southeast Asia orders.
NEV Ecosystem Takes Center Stage
At the Nov 10 show, Shacman unveiled its Zhihui, Zhiyuan, Zhihuan NEV series tailored to diverse scenarios:
Zhihui Series:
Features in-house developed tri-electric systems with “Efficient Energy-Saving Tech 2.0“, cutting power consumption 16% vs industry peers. Its 580kW motor suits heavy-load mining and coal transport.
Zhihuan Series:
Adopts battery-swapping technology, enabling 3-5 minute swaps. Partnered with CATL, it offers flexible battery rental plans lowering energy costs to $0.06/km.
Integrated Cold-Chain Truck:
Co-developed with CIMC Vehicles, it boasts ±0.5℃ temperature control and 61.2m³ capacity, targeting high-value logistics.
The brand also held a ceremony for its 25,000th NEV order and 20,000th delivery in 2025, underscoring market recognition.
C Series Powertrain Marks 20-Year Partnership
Celebrating two decades of collaboration with Cummins, Shacman launched the C Series premium powertrain. Built on integrated design, it delivers enhanced reliability for global markets. The event also marked the delivery of the 30,000th Shacman truck equipped with Xiaoxiang Power, a milestone for the joint technology platform.
“This powertrain strengthens our competitiveness in high-end segments,” said Yuan Hongming, Shacman’s chairman, noting it will power 70% of 2026 exports.
Southeast Asia Exports Gain Momentum
Shacman’s subsidiary Shaanxi Tongli recently delivered a batch of heavy-duty trailers to Southeast Asia, with automatic transmission models accounting for over 100 units sold in 2025. These vehicles feature Allison transmissions and terrain-adapted chassis, tailored for the region’s infrastructure projects.
The brand now serves 150+ countries via 17 KD plants, with top shares in Kazakhstan and Algeria. “Our ‘scene-specific’ strategy aligns with global decarbonization and infrastructure demands,” a sales executive stated. Shacman targets 25% of China’s heavy-truck export market by 2026.
