Shacman’s Automatic Specialty Trucks Drive 30% Non-Russia Growth in 320k Export Market

China’s heavy-truck exports are set to hit 320,000 units in 2025, with non-Russia markets leading expansion at 33% year-on-year growth—fueled by Southeast Asia’s infrastructure boom and Africa’s mining demand. Shacman, capitalizing on this shift, saw its automatic-transmission specialty trucks top 100 units in overseas sales, while its EU-certified models and hydrogen trucks broke into high-end markets, reinforcing its 18% global export share.

100+ Automatic Specialty Trucks Secure SE Asia & Middle East Orders

Shacman’s subsidiary Shaanxi Tongli delivered over 100 automatic-transmission specialty trucks to Southeast Asia and the Middle East in November—including all-terrain desert trucks and heavy-haul tractors. Equipped with Allison transmissions, the models cut driver fatigue by 40% for long-haul mining logistics, with Saudi Arabian clients reporting 12% higher monthly operational hours.

“This marks our biggest automatic-transmission export year,” said Li Wei, Shaanxi Tongli’s overseas manager. The shipment aligns with Shacman’s 2.4x export growth in H1 2025, driven by tailored designs for tropical humidity and desert terrain.

EU Certification Pushes Poland Market Share to 7%

Shacman’s X6000 series, which earned EU WVTA certification earlier this year, reached 7% market share in Poland within three months. The 580HP tractors feature adaptive cruise control and EU Stage V emissions compliance, targeting cross-border logistics via the China-Europe Railway Express—where Shacman’s export logistics costs dropped 8% in 2025.

“We’re now competing with Scania in Eastern Europe’s premium segment,” noted a Shacman Europe director. The brand is advancing UNECE autonomous driving certification to tap EU’s “Fit for 55″ decarbonization demand.

Hydrogen Trucks Break Into Japan & Australia

Shacman’s Proton Motors hydrogen trucks became the first Chinese brand certified under Japan’s “Commercial Vehicle Electrification Promotion Program”. Following the 5-month delivery to Australia’s iron ore mines, the 240kW models secured 20 more pre-orders, thanks to their -30°C cold-start capability and 550km range.

This complements Shacman’s domestic new energy push: it signed a 500-unit electric truck deal with Inner Mongolia’s Wuhai Power in late 2025, adding to its 25,000 NEV annual sales.

Industry Trend: Concentration & NEV Penetration Rise

Shacman’s growth mirrors industry shifts: China’s top 5 heavy-truck makers now hold 91% market share, with NEV penetration hitting 26% in June 2025. “Our dual focus on automatic-transmission specialty vehicles and hydrogen tech fits both emerging and developed markets,” a sales executive stated.

With 2025 exports nearing 45,000 units, Shacman targets 20% of China’s non-Russia export market by 2026, prioritizing Vietnam’s infrastructure and Australia’s mining sectors.
